Awesome review really ! I'm hesitant between the Tamron 20-40mm and the 17-28mm. Does anyone know which lens performs best overall ( I know the 20-40mm is newer) ?

You can tell he really doesn't get it he doesn't see how genius that is.... yeah he wants you to spend a couple thousand and get everything done proper but the ingenuity it takes to come up with something that works practically and efficiently with cheap stuff you have laying around...

I DO hate that sound. And the whole camera falling over bit. I love Adam and hate the choice to keep all the stupid camera mount noises and camera falls. It's an editing choice I strongly disagree with.

Maybe I'm being silly. If I am, I'm sure y'all will let me know. Here goes. Has anyone, and by anyone I mean influential UA-cam creators, reached out to the responsible Sony product team(s) about this? Hold their feet to the overheating a6700, so to speak? I know I'm looking at an a6700 because of all its features. If I cannot reliably use these features the camera is no good to me. I REALLY, REALLY, want to throw some more at Sony but...

Adam is an absolute god of inspiration and contagious giddiness. I could listen to him yap on about copper pipes for 20 minutes and I wouldn't notice time was passing. He also seems like a genuinely nece person and like someone who makes content to share his love of the craft with no motives to sell you anything or pander to trends. He is a hero om mine, and as a bit of a a cynic, I don't have a lot of those.

Finally found this video, thank you. I shot Nikon as a film camera and still have three of them but only one is an FM2N. Today I shoot Some Canon and a lot of Sony but this camera really interests me.Like the idea of the 40mm and hope there is a 28mm. Wonder how easy it is to adapt my AI-S lenses from F mount. Take care.

This video reminds me of camera shading a truck for ESPN and how I had 20 minutes, whatever shitty lighting the arena had, alot of super green SD and Clean HD lenses mixed in with POV cameras and standard camcorders to match perfectly. With no cards or anything just my scopes and the shading boxes. Moral of the story, with a proper monitor and enough training you can eyeball anything to within a margin of error. Good times, sure miss it.

Not a fan of giving money to Chinese companies that rip off a better product. This might look good now but I bet you the Sachtler they stole ideas from will out last your life of shooting film and the YC Onion will last as long as you don't take it to the extremes, at least for a few years. Then the Sachtler will have a warranty you can trust and the YC Onion will have an option to buy from the next Chinese company that comes along. I have bought two tripods in my time as a pro and they have traveled the world and been to combat, one was a Miller bought in 2001 and the other was a Sachtler flowtech just for something lighter. The only issue I have had for either is buying a new plate when someone stole the plate for my Miller in an out of the way part of the world. Hell I have photos of it recording an explosion and flying 100 ft and it is still working as a studio tripod today. Buy good gear and you will never have to worry about returning something to a Chinese manufacture and waiting months to see if they will honor the warranty.

Hi Gerald! Could you update this for 2023 and the HLG3 Release of the Leeming Lut? I'm struggling to understand if I still need to convert the footage from BT2020 > Rec 709. I seem to get the best results in a color managed workspace set to SDR Rec 709 and applying the leeming lut to the first node, adjusting WB and grading from there. Still not sure if I have this right. Should you also avoid using the LOG primary colour wheels when correcting/grading 8Bit HLG3 footage?

Gerald, I checked every video you've uploaded and I don't see a proper GH5 review anywhere. I know it's an old camera now, but I would love to see you do all the same testing you do with modern cameras on the camera that helped launch your UA-cam career. 🙏
